SPI (Serial Peripheral Interface) is the standard data protocol for individually addressable LED pixel strips — it allows a controller to send unique colour data to each pixel independently on a single data line. Compatible controllers include Newon’s LED 510 Main Controller, DMX Sub-Controller 408, and professional software such as Madrix for large-scale pixel mapping installations.

What is the difference between pixels and LEDs per metre?
This strip has 60 LEDs/m but 10 pixels/m — meaning every 6 LEDs form one addressable pixel group that receives a single colour command. Each of the 10 pixels per metre can display a different colour simultaneously, enabling chasing, wave, and animation effects along the strip length. For finer pixel resolution (more individually controlled zones per metre), contact Newon for higher pixel density options.

Why 24V for this pixel strip?
At 12W/m, 24V operation halves the current versus 12V, significantly reducing voltage drop over long runs. For facade installations with continuous runs of 10–20m, 24V maintains consistent colour brightness from the first metre to the last without mid-run power injection.
